Programming is Based on the Following Principles:
- Individualization/Member Directed Services - All services are
tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual based on their needs and wants, and driven by the individual according to their choices and preferences in the recovery process.
- Strengths and Abilities - Services focus on the whole person instead of emphasizing on the symptoms of the illness. This is done through recognizing the individuals strengths and abilities as it applies to their needs in their chosen roles and/or environments.
- Partnership and Skill Development - All aspects of clubhouse are based on a partnership between program participant and agency staff, to include Rehabilitative Goal Planning, Direct Skills Teaching, Intervention, and Support. All programming within clubhouse and community are determined as a partnership by staff and program participants alike.
- Hope and Support - Services are based on the fact that hope and support are essential in the recovery process and that all people have the capacity to learn and grow.
Curriculums are developed monthly according to the participants individualized goal plans, with weekly education classes followed by role plays, games and review. All skills are encouraged and practiced through a structured skill development program centered around occupational work units as well as structured social/recreational activities. Members are encouraged to participate and practice skills learned within Clubhouse in the larger community and/or environment of choice. Clubhouse provides each individual with an opportunity to test and develop abilities where there is acceptance, support, encouragement and above all a sense of belonging.
